How do we take Prepare/Enrich?

You’ll need to be set up to take Prepare/Enrich by a Facilitator who will also debrief the results with you. If you belong to a faith community or see a therapist/counselor, check with them first to see if they can set you up. You can also use our Facilitator Finder to locate someone near you.

Do we answer the questions together?

No. To ensure the most accurate results, you’ll each complete your own portion separately and refrain from discussing or influencing each other’s answers.

How long does it take to complete the assessment?

The assessment will take each person around 30 minutes to complete. Assessment length can vary depending on how many customizations you receive in your question set.

Do I need to answer all the questions in one sitting?

No. You can save your progress along the way. However, we strongly encourage individuals to take Prepare/Enrich on an emotionally neutral day, without interruptions, and in one sitting if possible.

Can I start over or retake the assessment?

We typically advise against retaking the assessment in order to avoid assessment fatigue, which can impact accuracy. If it’s absolutely necessary to start over, please reach out directly to our Customer Care team. If you feel you answered a question or two inaccurately, simply let your Facilitator know.

Why do we need to have a Facilitator?

Prepare/Enrich can only be administered through a certified Facilitator who has been trained to interpret results. The assessment scoring and results are complex and can be misinterpreted, so it is necessary to have a trained Facilitator debrief them with you.

Can we take the assessment if we’re not engaged yet?

Yes! Prepare/Enrich customizes for dating couples, as well as engaged and married.

Can we take the assessment if we’re already married?

Yes! You can take Prepare/Enrich as a married couple. You’ll benefit from it whether you are newlyweds or have been married for decades.

How much does the assessment cost?

The assessment cost is $35 per couple. However, many Facilitators will take care of payment and bundle the fee into other services they are providing, so check with the Facilitator directly for the most accurate rate.

Are there additional materials I’ll need to buy?

Prepare/Enrich does not require couples to purchase additional materials. However, it’s common for Facilitators to either provide or ask you to purchase a copy of the Workbook for Couples for each partner.

We finished the assessment. How do we get our results?

The Facilitator you’re working with will have access to your results immediately after you complete your assessment. They will work with you to debrief them.

How can we get a discount on our marriage license?

Each state/county has specific criteria for obtaining a marriage license discount. You’ll want to find out what is required in your area and work with your Facilitator to get the right documentation.

Is Prepare/Enrich based on research?

Can we fail this assessment if we score poorly?

No. There is no pass or fail aspect to Prepare/Enrich. The scores for each section help provide awareness and insight, pinpointing the relationship areas that will benefit from skill-building.

Yes! There are Prepare/Enrich Facilitators throughout the world. Use the Facilitator Finder to search in your area.

How does Prepare/Enrich work?

A trained Facilitator sets up a couple to take the Prepare/Enrich assessment through their account dashboard. The couple receives login information, and each partner takes their portion separately. The Facilitator immediately receives the results and uses them to provide feedback and guide the couple through skill-building exercises on various relationship topics.

Do I have to be trained to use the Prepare/Enrich assessment?

Yes, you need to be a trained Prepare/Enrich Facilitator to use the assessment with couples.

How do you become a Prepare/Enrich Facilitator?

We have two Facilitator training options – online training or in-person workshop training. The content covered in each format is largely the same, but the delivery is different.

Are there any requirements to become a Prepare/Enrich Facilitator?

No. There are no specific educational or vocational requirements to become a Facilitator. We do strongly suggest Facilitators be connected to a support system when working with couples (through their job, volunteer work, faith community, etc.).

If working as a couple, do we become Facilitators together or separately?

Couples who plan to work with couples together can be trained together and share one account.

What does the Prepare/Enrich assessment do for a Facilitator?

Prepare/Enrich provides an objective view of a couple’s relationship, allowing the Facilitator to know the couple on a deeper level more quickly than simply meeting with them.

Can Prepare/Enrich be used in a group or class of couples?

Yes! Prepare/Enrich can be used one-on-one with a couple or in a group setting. We even offer a Group Program upgrade that makes it easy to use in a small group or class.

How many sessions are needed to debrief Prepare/Enrich results?

We recommend using the provided 4-8 session feedback structure; however, there are no strict requirements, and the assessment feedback process is flexible.

Are there other resources or books that need to be used with Prepare/Enrich?

No. The Workbook for Couples is referenced throughout the results and provides great skill-building exercises. However, it is not a requirement to use this or any other resource when working with a couple to debrief their results.

Who pays for Prepare/Enrich? How much does it cost?

What are the main benefits to couples going through Prepare/Enrich?

Is there a Prepare/Enrich assessment for military couples?

Military couples receive specialized questions that reflect the status of their service (currently deployed, returned from deployment, etc.) and specific military life questions.

Is there a Prepare/Enrich assessment for couples who have children?

Yes! The standard Prepare/Enrich assessment includes various questions related to the specific parenting stage the couple is in. Additionally, there is a specific Parenting version of Prepare/Enrich that dives deeper into parenting styles along with the couple relationship.

Is Prepare/Enrich used in Adoption agencies?

Yes! Prepare/Enrich has a specific assessment that is used with couples preparing to adopt or foster children. This is typically used by agency caseworkers as part of the home study process.

Are there CEUs available with training?

No. There are currently no CEUs pre-approved for the Prepare/Enrich Facilitator training; however, professionals are encouraged to petition their licensing board for credit.

Is Prepare/Enrich available in Spanish?

Yes! Prepare/Enrich is available in 12 languages, including Spanish.

I’m located outside of the US - can I become a Facilitator?

Absolutely! You can take the online training any time or find a workshop in your area via the Workshop Finder.
