Rod is currently the Lead Minister at The Gap Uniting Church in Brisbane. He grew up in the church and was trained and mentored by many wonderful people, particularly in areas of music and worship and leading young people. He is a bit of a sci-fi nerd, completed degrees in Science and Education at uni, and worked as a High School teacher teaching Chemistry and Maths for 11 years before following the call of God into full time ministry, where he has served since 2012. Rod loves teaching and learning, and is passionate about encouraging, equipping, and empowering people to discover and apply new and healthy ways to grow in their relationships – with partners, family, colleagues, children, God, community, and creation. He also loves good people, good conversation, good coffee, and good music. Rod is married to Jen (25 years in 2024) and they have two young adult sons, William and Thomas.
