Laura is a qualified and experienced Prepare-Enrich facilitator. She has been a practising psychotherapist/counsellor since 1998 and currently works with individuals, couples and families. She works in private practice as well as working for an NGO where she is a general Family Counsellor and Educator. She brings to her work a wealth of life experience and a deep insight and respect for the client’s unique way of being in the world. · Laura specialises in relationship counselling, enhancing intimacy and connection, supporting couples to rejuvenate their relationship working from a strength-based, solution focused approach using process-oriented techniques, EFT, ACT, mindfulness, somatic and secure attachment theories. She has trained under USA leading couple’s therapists John and Julie Gottman and Dan Wile. · Incorporates the techniques of ‘Mindfulness’ into her counselling learned when she was a practising shiatsu therapist and yoga teacher in 1990’s · In her role as group educator she facilitates numerous parenting programs and other psycho-education programs across the range offered by the organisation LifeWorks Counselling and Education Services, she is well informed to support clients facing the complex issues of parenting, step-parenting and parenting after separation. · Trauma work – 6 yrs experience working with long term complex childhood trauma, institutional abuse and family violence · Enjoys supporting clients interested in personal development and growth and those experiencing life transition, Laura is married with 2 adult children. She enjoys travelling to diverse cultures, appreciates textiles and the arts, dance, theatre and music. She relaxes by reading, doing Pilates, beading, cooking and walking in nature.
