Katinka is a registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). She completed a Master of Psychology (Clinical Psychology) and is also a qualified Couple and Family Therapist.
Katinka has worked in the Psychology and counselling field for more than 30 years in both public and private settings, including hospitals, family court, community center’s and schools.
She works with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families in providing psychological interventions for a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, stress, self-esteem, relationship and family difficulties, past trauma and abuse, grief/loss, and the challenges encountered by life transitions.
Katinka is very mindful of treating each person as a unique individual, and aims to foster a safe therapeutic space where personal issues can be respectfully and meaningfully explored and understood. Katinka aims to work collaboratively with people to establish therapeutic goals important to them, and to generate strategies that may ease, relieve or improve their level of distress. She has a special interest in couples therapy, group work and Positive Psychology.
Katinka has expertise in the use of multiple therapeutic interventions that are supported by empirical research and clinical practice. Such interventions include: Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (CBT); Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); Narrative and Solution Focused Approaches; Interpersonal Therapy and Mindfulness/Relaxation practices.
